Effective date: October 4, 2026. This policy covers weddingfilms.ca, the Wedding Films Canada website owned and operated by July Story LTD.
1. Who is responsible
July Story LTD is responsible for personal information collected through this website. For privacy questions, access or correction requests, or concerns, contact Alex Step at julystoryca@gmail.com or 604 781 2272.
2. Information we collect
When you enquire, we collect your name, email address, wedding location, chosen package and message, along with your phone number and date if you provide them. Please avoid including sensitive information or unnecessary details about other people.
Our hosting provider may record technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages, browser information and access times for security and operation. The enquiry handler uses a temporary security session and a limited request counter to help prevent spam. It does not create a customer database on this website.
3. How we use it
- Respond to your enquiry and discuss availability, coverage and quotes.
- Communicate about a booking and provide agreed services.
- Protect the website, prevent abuse and troubleshoot delivery issues.
- Meet applicable record-keeping and legal obligations.
An enquiry is not consent to a marketing mailing list. We do not sell your enquiry details.
4. Consent and your choices
The enquiry form asks for your consent to use the details you provide for the stated purpose. You may also contact us by phone or email. You can withdraw consent for future uses by contacting Alex, subject to applicable legal or contractual requirements. Withdrawal may affect our ability to respond or deliver requested services.
5. Hosting, email and service providers
This website is hosted with Web Hosting Canada (WHC); the selected hosting location is Vancouver, Canada. Enquiries are forwarded to our Gmail contact inbox. Hosting and email providers process information to provide their services. Email and other third-party services may process or store information outside your province or Canada, where other laws may apply. A Canadian website server does not mean all email and connected services remain in Canada.
6. Cookies, analytics and video
We remember your privacy preferences in browser storage and use a necessary session cookie for form security. Optional analytics or advertising tools, when configured, load only after you accept their category. Embedded YouTube or Vimeo players are also held until you permit them. 7. Retention and protection
We retain enquiry correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to respond, manage a resulting customer relationship, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations. Booking and financial records may require longer retention. You can ask about retention or request deletion by contacting Alex. Temporary anti-spam counters are removed after approximately 24 hours during subsequent form activity. Hosting logs and provider backups follow those providers’ retention arrangements.
We use access controls and appropriate technical safeguards, but no website or email service can guarantee absolute security. Please do not send payment-card details through this form.
8. Access, correction and complaints
You may ask to access or correct your personal information, withdraw consent or raise a privacy concern using the contact details above. We may need to verify your identity and will respond in accordance with applicable privacy law. If a concern remains unresolved, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as applicable.
9. Wedding films and third-party information
Publication of client films and identifiable images is addressed separately from an enquiry. Submitting the contact form does not grant permission to publish your wedding film or likeness. Please only share information you are entitled to provide.
10. Updates
We may update this policy when our practices or services change. The effective date will be updated, and material changes requiring new consent will be addressed before the new use.
